DHA is the abbreviation of dihydroxyacetone, also known as glycerone. DHA powder is a hygroscopic white crystalline powder. It has a sweet cooling taste and a characteristic odor. Usually, DHA is mainly used as an ingredient in sunless tanning products, and DHA is the only FDA-approved agent for sunless tanning. It has been applied in vitiligo to temporarily induce pigmentation in affected areas.
