Gardenia Extract is delived from the fruit of gardenia jasminoides, which is an evergreen flowering plant of the coffee family Rubiaceae. Main active ingredient is geniposide.
Genipin is an excellent natural cross-linker for proteins, collagen, gelatin, and chitosan cross-linking. Besides, genipin can be used as a regulating agent for medicine delivery, as the raw material for gardenia blue pigment preparation, and as the intermediate for alkaloid syntheses.
